Some days ago, on the way back from a business trip, Ned asked me to call at the launderette near to the office as he had to pick up his underpants.
Yes, he had no more underpants to wear at home for he had delivered the total stock of his underpant drawer to the launderette a few days before, I did not ask the obvious question of why he felt the need for an industrial launderette to wash his underpants when he has a perfectly serviceable washing machine at home for that is his personal business.
So he walks into the launderette and the ever-so friendly Indian owner operator approaches and greets him like an old friend, as indeed he is as our Ned apparently uses this business frequently, I really must ask him why he isn’t using the washing machine at home more often.
He asks if his washing bag is ready and the conversation follows …
” I am very sorry sir but I have sold your underpants”
“Pardon ?”
“Yes, you see you did not collect them and someone expressed an interest”
“I only left them one day”
“Yes but you see we have no storage facilities sir, I have to sell your underpants”
“You sold all of my underpants ?”
“Yes sir, a very nice gentleman came in and tried them all on, he say that they do not fit him but that they will do for dusters and he give me good price”

Not all parts of this story may be true. The calling in at the launderette for his underpants is…
Sometimes humour is the staff that we lean on in hard times.

That was a funny one! Reading it aloud, even funnier!! Ah..now I begin my day!
I read it aloud and try to get the accent right as well.
Good one!
