Left the hotel this morning with no breakfast because the fool of a waitress forgot me.
I have a confession to make now – with my injury yesterday I have dropped back to join the pace team (its a great excuse) rather than try and keep up with Steve on the whole route, surprisingly Rod the rotund medic is still on his bike and is looking an outside favourite to finish the whole route, he’s brought a big bag of “medical supplies” and we think he is popping uppers all day but its hard to tell with Rod because he’s like that all the time
Have just finished the first stage today to Greystoke and we’re now waiting at the end of the next stage for the lads to catch up – then we play scissors paper stone to see who gets to ride the 2000 feet up Hartside, the lucky ones get to drive up and wait at the top, eating cake, there has to be cake
