Healthcare Reform

There is something rather strange going on in the USA right now, well, that is, it all looks rather strange to us here in the UK, but then we’ve always thought of ourselves as a more enlightened sibling – we’re the older brother reading hard sums at Oxford whereas the USA is the High School [...]

Video Saturday – Eric Clapton

Like a drizzle of warm treacle over a hot sticky pudding on a freezing cold day. Sublime

So finally, a careers choice then

Suddenly I was 16 years old, and just as suddenly I had taken my O levels and was then ceremoniously thrown out of the school gates and told never to darken her door again, “Off you go and get a job, you bastards”, thus spaketh our Headmaster Cheesy Holland, he had a right way with [...]

The Careers Advisor

It happens to every youth – at some point in their school career someone will ask “so what do you want to be then ?” I’m not so sure that it happens so much these days though, my eldest offspring is studying law at university and she’s not even sure, not even two years into [...]

Video Saturday – The Muppets

No comment (At least its better than the  original)

The two wheeled car

Remember Dennis, the tourettes service engineer of my employment ? Well, this is one of Dennis’s many tales of mishap from his life, really, he should write a blog, it would be hilarious. When Dennis was a young man with tourettes  he eventually found himself a young lady who could see through his propensity to [...]

R.F. Holland MA(cantab)

R.F. Holland MA(cantab), think of a thinner version of Arthur Lowes Captain Mainwaring in TV’s “Dads Army”, other than the few extra pounds of weight he was the spitting image of Capt Mainwaring, and a similar cartoon caricature. R.F. Holland MA(cantab), the man who insisted that his initials and qualifications were spelled out on every [...]
